Join CPF Co-Directors Bob Shrum and Mike Murphy along with special guest Mike Pettit, former Chief of Staff and Administrative Assistant to Senator Dole, for a special remembrance of Bob Dole from people who knew him well.

Former US Senator and Republican Presidential Nominee Bob Dole (1923-2021) passed away on December 5, 2021. Senator Dole was a World War II veteran from Russell, Kansas who became one of the most celebrated Kansans ever. He served 27 years in the Senate, 8 years in the House of Representatives, and received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2018. Senator Dole was Gerald Ford’s Vice-Presidential nominee in 1976, but lost in the general election to Jimmy Carter. In 1996, Dole became the GOP nominee for president. He was defeated by Bill Clinton in that election. He was married to former US Senator and US Labor Secretary Elizabeth Dole.
