LGBTQ+ Generations: Films & Conversations #1

Location: Online

Please join us for this 3-part series that focus on generous cross-generational conversations about the evolving LGBTQ+ experience. For each session, we’ll watch a short film and then engage in facilitated, small-group conversations focusing on LGBTQ+-affirming explorations of gender and sexuality. These events are open to all who are willing to participate in a way that is fully affirmative of the varieties of LGBTQ+ identities, relationships, and experiences.

This series will be convened on Zoom on three Friday afternoons in November (Nov. 5, 12, and 19) from 4:00 to 5:30 PM (ET). Each event is listed separately on this site, since you don’t need to attend each one in order to participate. Registration and links to the films are on our website.

  • November 5:  The LGBTQ+ Generation Gap (“The Gap”).  Older and younger members of the LGBTQ+ community pair up for conversations about their different perspectives and experiences.
  • November 12:  Tell-By Date.  A trans father struggles with telling his young son that he’s not his biological father, and finds he must confront his own father along the way.
  • November 19:  Take Me to Prom: True Stories from 7 Different Decades. A look at LGBTQ+ experiences of the adolescent milestone of prom through personal stories spanning 70 years.
