Public Screening of Short Film PURPLE, followed by Skill-Building for Communicating Across Divides (Virtual)

Resetting the Table

Location: Online

Please join us for a virtual screening and interactive discussion of the new short film: PURPLE, America, We Need To Talk.

Created by political mediation organization Resetting the Table in partnership with Emmy award-winning Transient Pictures, PURPLE tells the story of Americans with opposing viewpoints addressing their differences head-on and discovering the concerns and humanity that lie behind each other’s positions. Filmed in rural Wisconsin and Iowa, PURPLE is an uplifting and humanizing look into what healthy dialogue on charged political issues can look like.

After the screening, one of the creators of PURPLE will teach two key skills for productive conversations across disagreement and walk through a suggested post-screening process that participants can bring back to their own communities.

Resetting the Table is distributing the film and Discussion Guide as free resources to libraries, religious communities, schools, and other civic and community organizations. If you are interested in bringing PURPLE to your community or network, please visit us at www.resettingthetable.org/purple.
