Racial Justice Teachout: Critical Race Theory in Tennessee
Join the Grand Challenge Initiative on Racial Justice and the Third Reconstruction, in partnership with Millions of Conversations, for the second event of the Racial Justice Teachout series.
We will investigate what Critical Race Theory is, what it isn’t, and what’s being taught about race and diversity in Tennessee’s public schools and why.
Panelists include Dr. Chezare Warren, Associate Professor of Equity & Inclusion in Education Policy, Vanderbilt University; Cassandra Bates, Teacher in Williamson County’s Public School District; and Dr. Sekou Franklin, Professor of Political Science at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and President of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists.
The event will be moderated by Dr. Claudine Taaffe, Senior Lecturer in African American Diaspora Studies, Vanderbilt University.
