2021 Conversationalist Series: The Politics of Guns in America

Join Millions of Conversations for our May Conversationalist Series event! Millions Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Jason Dempsey, whose work focuses on the intersection of military, veterans affairs, and the obligations of citizenship; Aerospace & Defense professional and Truman National Security Project Fellow, Justin McFarlin, who advocates to reduce gun violence and increase diversity in national security and foriegn policy communities; and Millions Senior Policy Advisor, psychiatrist and gun violence expert, Dr. Jonathan Metzl will serve as panelists in a conversation about gun violence in the United States and its relationship to masculinity, health, and racism. Communications specialist and BNC News Host Nayyera Haq will moderate this discussion, as we work to better understand the origins and impacts of armed violence on communities across the United States. This event is designed to be interactive, and will give participants the opportunity to discuss gun violence, citizenship, peace, and lessons for dialogue from the #PledgeToListen.
