2022 Spring Leadership Summit: Engaging Differences
From the beginning, the United States has been a nation of differences – different races, different ideologies, different regions, different interests and different parties. And yet, aside from the Civil War, we have always managed to engage in constructive conversations to find common ground. But it feels like that ability to recognize our commonalities is slipping away from us, in government and in public discourse. How can we embrace our differences and acknowledge that as Americans we have the ability to think, feel and be different from one another and still support our nation and state? Along with our partners, the National Institute for Civil Discourse, we will give you concrete steps that we can all take to help get us back on track and explore ways to regain the cooperative skills that have served us so well for more than two centuries.
