A Conversation with Michael Donne and Maureen Kline
Location: Online
Do you ever wonder about the impact political spending has on the state of American businesses? Join American Promise for the next chapter in our Speaker Series where we will talk with leading economic experts, Michael Donnelly and Maureen Kline, about how our lopsided campaign finance laws negatively affect the U.S. economy. Their conversation will focus on the impacts of political spending, such as the collapse of our international educational advantage, lower productivity, and the effects on businesses of all sizes. Our panelists will explore viable solutions to the problems we face and discuss how business can fit into responsible civic and political engagement.
Mr. Donnelly currently serves as the Chief Economist at IBM and created the equality index for the National Urban League, which he presented to the UN in Geneva. Ms. Kline is the VP of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Pirelli Tire North America. She earned her master’s degree from the London School of Economics and has worked as a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal Europe, Business Week, and BreakingViews.
