Civic Synergy Leadership Program
As part of our leadership program, you will have the opportunity to propose real, tractable solutions to address pressing issues, while preserving economic development, with a politically diverse group of peers. Throughout the program, you will work collaboratively with your team, aiming to propose policies addressing a specific issue.
By the end of the program, you will have had the chance to:
- discuss pragmatic policy proposals to be presented to members of Congress
- improve your ability to have productive conversations across the aisle
- develop collaborative leadership skills
- connect with other passionate future leaders
At the end of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to present your proposed solutions to elected officials and other experts from world-renowned think tanks and academies, allowing you the direct opportunity to be involved and influential in the lawmaking process.
The program involves a total of six, 1.5-hour sessions over the course of six weeks from June to early July including:
- Expert speakers and activities designed to build your dialogue and collaborative skills
- Facilitated deliberations and problem-solving around the topic of choice
Applicants can choose which cohort they would like to be a part of, depending on their interest and availability. This summer, our cohorts will focus on Improving the American Education System and Strengthening our Republic.
Our programs are run on Zoom every Wednesday or Thursday over the course of 6 weeks.
Cohort 1 – Improving the American education system: Wednesdays, June 7, 14, 21, 28, July 5, 12 @ 7-8:30pm EST
Cohort 2 – Strengthening our republic: Thursdays, June 8, 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13 @ 7-8:30pm EST
Presentations to elected officials, staffers, and other experts will be scheduled in the weeks following the program. Presentation dates will be shared with participants in as much advance as possible.
Expect to commit around 2-4 hours per week throughout the six-week program, including the weekly sessions and preparatory work between sessions
