Civil War Movie Dialogue Event
Bridge Alliance Education Fund
Location: Online
WHAT: The Bridge Alliance Education Fund will host the Civil War Film Dialogue Event as an engaging example of how pop culture intertwines with our societal experiences. This online event will feature a facilitated dialogue about the new film Civil War, a dystopian action film written and directed by Alex Garland and distributed by A24. The session will include a large group introduction as well as small group discussions.
WHY: Film, television, music, and art facilitate connection beyond our differences through shared experiences. We know that art can bridge divides, but we also have seen ways that it creates or reinforces divides. In a period of high affective polarization, concerns about political violence are shared by a large swath of Americans. This movie serves as a tool for reflecting on those concerns.
WHO: Anyone who would like to discuss the movie Civil War in a structured and safe environment. The movie premiers nationwide on April 12, allowing many opportunities to view the movie before joining this film dialogue event.
WHEN: Saturday, April 20th at 7 pm EST
