Democracy in Danger
Location: Online
Recent years have made clear that national security widely defined includes the defense of representative democratic institutions within our country’s own borders. Join us as we discuss dangers to democracy and efforts to bolster it.
The panel includes:
— Yashca Mounk, a leading expert on the crisis of liberal democracy and the rise of populism, author, and founder and editor in chief of the online magazine PERSUASION,
— Rachel Brown, founder and executive director of Over Zero, and an expert on countering hate, preventing violence, and encouraging civic engagement,
— Ken Powley, co-founder and CEO of Team Democracy, a grassroots effort aimed at reducing polarization in America by advocating for a shared commitment to safe and fair electoral processes.
Discussion will be moderated by David Priess, senior fellow and publisher and chief operating officer at Lawfare.
