Hispanics in the White House

Join us on Thursday, September 22nd from 12:00-1:30pm at the University Club Scriptorium for an all-star panel discussion with Noelia Rodriguez and Hector Hernandez as they discuss their experiences working in the White House and their careers as trailblazing Mexican Americans. This event honors Hispanic Heritage Month and is being held in partnership with USC Latino Alumni Association, the USC Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, the USC Price Latinx Student Association, La CASA, and Trojan Democrats.

Noelia Rodriguez was the first Hispanic woman to serve as Press Secretary for the First Lady’s Office. She was Press Secretary for LA Mayor Richard Riordan, and she has held C-suite positions at LA Metro and the Port of Long Beach, where she was the highest-ranking female executive in the Port’s 105-year history. She is currently Chief of Staff at Metrolink, Southern California’s regional rail system.

Hector Hernandez is a 28-year veteran of the United States Secret Service. He was a Special Agent and worked in the prestigious Presidential Protective Division in Washington, D.C., where he protected Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Vice President Mike Pence. He was the highest ranking Hispanic agent ever in the Secret Service.
