Join the Conversation: Community Safety and Justice in Palm Beach County
Curious what authentic community engagement looks like on a local level?
Please join Everyday Democracy on Tuesday, February 22nd at 2:30pm EST for an in-depth discussion about how a recent community engagement initiative in Palm Beach County, Florida used dialogue to drive action around community safety and justice.
Because of your interest in Everyday Democracy, we want to be in conversation with you about this exciting work in our community.
The Palm Beach County process last fall brought together community members, elected officials, and individuals working throughout the criminal justice system for forums, dialogues, and community action projects. A local news station featured the work in a November segment, which you can check out at the link below: https://www.wptv.com/news/america-in-crisis/where-are-we-now-more-than-a-year-after-death-of-george-floyd?mc_cid=5bffc2f71d&mc_eid=8750aaed7f.
This work reflects the power of the Dialogue to Change model, highlighting its ability to help connect individuals across difference, envision a more equitable future, and take concrete steps to enact that future.
We hope you can join us for a panel with staff and colleagues who organized and supported these community dialogues.
As we share the successes and lessons learned of Palm Beach County, we hope to learn from you: can you imagine similar efforts working in your community? What might you need to tailor or adapt?
