Knight Election Law Forum

Bridge Alliance Education Fund

Join us Sept. 5 for the first in a series of Knight Election Law Forums, a collaboration between Knight Foundation and the American Bar Association’s Task Force for American Democracy.

This virtual series aims to equip journalists with essential, nonpartisan, fact-based knowledge on election law to better inform their communities in the lead-up to the 2024 elections and beyond. The first event will feature esteemed experts discussing national election law, including:

Dean Heather Gerken, Yale Law School Ben Ginsberg, Hoover Institution Bob Bauer, NYU Law’s Legislative and Regulatory Process Clinic David Becker, The Center for Election Innovation & Research Moderated by: Poppy Harlow, Journalist & former CNN Anchor and Tracie Potts, Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College

The panel will be held virtually from noon to 2 p.m. Eastern Time. It will kick off a series of seven virtual events focused on state-specific election law issues, tailored for local journalists in key battleground states where this information may be most in demand from their readers: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

These events will provide practical, nonpartisan, fact-based guidance on understanding state election laws, ensuring that journalists are prepared to cover critical election issues accurately and effectively.
