Securing the States: From Security to Resiliency
As part of high-level discussions with the White House on cybersecurity, Microsoft recently pledged $150 million in security updates to state and local infrastructure. These contributions, however, can only be part of a bigger state and local cyber strategy. Join Ray Davidson, Andy Brush, John Bansemer and Megan Samford for our first Securing the States event to discuss how states can be proactive at their local level, moving from security to resiliency through the eyes of the state of Michigan’s Cyber Civilian Corps and Cyber Partners programs.
The Securing the States event series brings together distinguished experts on how state and municipal organizations can better prevent and respond to cyberattacks. We will discuss the findings from our report, “Enhancing State and Local Cybersecurity Responses,” which issues several recommendations, including, but not limited to increasing funding for personnel and resources as well as establishing a Cyber Response Capability and incident response framework. Perhaps more importantly, we will also discuss a way forward to implement these recommendations and to create a more resilient future before we run out of time.
