Teaching Civil Dialogue During a Crisis of Polarization

Unify America

Location: Online

Learn how three Colorado campuses are busting biases, fostering empathy, and helping students practice respectful civil dialogue across differences with the Unify Challenge College Bowl, an online intercollegiate student conversation tool.

What happens when two students – who have different political leanings and attend different schools – are paired into one-on-one guided online conversations about America’s toughest political issues? Over the course of two years, over 8,000 students from 160+ colleges and universities across 40 states have participated in the bi-annual, intercollegiate event called the Unify Challenge College Bowl.

In Fall 2023, nine schools in Colorado, from the Western Slope to the Front Range, participated in the College Bowl. Many, for the first time. Through this webinar, you’ll learn how Pikes Peak State College, Arapahoe Community College, and Colorado Mesa University integrated the Unify Challenge College Bowl into their classrooms and campus communities.

During this time, you’ll be able to learn about Unify America, ask questions and network with peers, and learn about the upcoming Spring 2024 College Bowl.
