The Invasion of Ukraine–What It Means for Democracy #1

Location: Online

What does the invasion of Ukraine mean for democracy–abroad and at home?

Join us for a series of 3 citizen-to-citizen conversations where we will help each other explore the different dimensions of what the invasion might entail for the prospects of democratic societies abroad and at home. These conversations will focus not on the specific factual details, where most of us cannot be an “expert,” but on the broader meaning of what is happening. Each of us is an expert about what democracy means for us. Bring your questions, concerns, and thoughts. Together we will explore what the Ukrainian situation means from the perspective of democratic citizens.

This series will be convened on Zoom on three Thursdays (March 17, 24, 31) from 1:00 pm – 2:15 pm ET. Each event is intended to be unique, so they are listed separately on this site (sign up for any that you can join). Each event is also intended to build on the others (moving from exploring the issues to generating positive possibilities for moving forward), so please join as many as you can.

Please register on Eventbrite and share this opportunity with others who may be interested. Together we will help each other explore ways to make sense of the invasion of Ukraine in terms of what it means for democracy.

These small-group online conversations will be facilitated by the Interactivity Foundation. The Interactivity Foundation is dedicated to fostering generous conversations where we can help each other consider diverse perspectives, think broadly and deeply about issues, and imagine alternative possibilities for the future.
