The Rising Impact of the Hispanic Electorate in America

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, Gloria Molina, Fellow at the Center for the Political Future, will lead a discussion on the rising impact of Latino voters. How have they changed American politics? What imprints are they leaving on American history and culture?

Latinos have quickly become the second largest population in the United States, seeing their proportion of the population rise rapidly over the last few decades. With that increase in numbers, they have seen greater influence in American politics, culture, and history. The Hispanic community is not a monolith and often have divergent policies and belief systems for America. In California, where they make up the largest ethnic group in the state, Trump won more votes from Latinos last year than he did in 2016, and he made similar gains around the country.  

Our panel of experts will discuss the impact and political composition of the Hispanic electorate and assess how both parties are reaching those voters.
