We the People’s Forum: A Citizen’s Proposal to Get Money Out of Politics

Location: Online

How can we reduce the influence of money in politics?

“No Ballot, No Buck” is a policy proposal by Bill Fry, a Tea Party leader from Blanchester, Ohio, that aims to do exactly that.

The idea, proposed as a constitutional amendment, is simple but radical: if you can’t vote for a candidate, you can’t give money to that candidate.

Curious to discuss more? Agree or disagree? Have your own ideas?

Join our two speakers, one red and one blue, in a fascinating conversation that will include plenty of time for Q & A and Discussion. During Q and A and Discussion, anyone who wants to ask a question or make a comment may do so.

Bill Fry is a Tea Party leader, retired Marine, and small businessman from Blanchester, Ohio. The architect of the “No Ballot, No Buck” proposal, Bill is a conservative who voted for Donald Trump.

Rob Weidenfeld is the Democratic Party District Chair of Montgomery, Ohio, and a retired teacher. A supporter of No Ballot, No Buck, Rob is a liberal who voted for Joe Biden.

About We the People’s Forum

In this forum, everyday people are the experts. After all, they are the ones who know the most about their own lives—people who are often spoken of but rarely spoken with, their stories little known but often misunderstood. We will hear their stories and ideas on the issues of the day. We’ll hear from people of all races, classes, and places. Together, we’ll explore how We the People can build a more perfect union in a divided America.

We the People’s Forum is an initiative of Braver Angels, a citizen’s organization that brings Americans together to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic. www.braverangels.org
