West Hartford Public Library Screening of Short Film PURPLE

Resetting the Table

Location: Online

In the face of immense division and polarization in our country, join us for a special virtual screening and interactive discussion of the new short film, PURPLE: America, We Need To Talk.

Created by Resetting the Table in partnership with Emmy award-winning Transient Pictures, PURPLE tells the story of Americans with opposing viewpoints addressing their differences head-on and discovering the concerns and humanity that lie behind each other’s positions. Filmed in rural Wisconsin and Iowa, PURPLE captures everyday Americans addressing their differences on work ethic, privilege, government, and the social safety net.

Join us for a virtual screening and a rare opportunity for live discussion and skill-building with Helen Kramer, an Associate Producer of PURPLE and team member at Resetting the Table. The interactive post-screening program will include skill-building for difficult conversations across divides.

Residents of West Hartford, CT will be prioritized for this event. Please note that there is a PURPLE screening open to the public on 6/15. Click here to sign up.

Resetting the Table is distributing the film and Discussion Guide as free resources to libraries, religious communities, schools, and other civic and community organizations. If you are interested in bringing PURPLE to your community or network, please visit us at www.resettingthetable.org/purple.
