PURPLE Film and Discussion Guide
Resetting the TablePURPLE, a short documentary from political mediation organization Resetting the Table (RTT) and Emmy-Award-winning Transient Pictures, tells the story of everyday Americans with opposing viewpoints addressing their differences head-on. Filmed in a swing region with the greatest concentration of counties that flipped Obama-to-Trump in the 2016 presidential election, PURPLE models a rare conversation that uplifts and inspires even while going toward the heat of passionate political differences. We’re inviting you to join us in sharing the film with your community as a tool to build greater empathy, skillfulness, and hope for breaking through our country’s divisions.
Resetting the Table is providing a robust Discussion Guide, social media toolkit, and supporting materials to make it as easy as possible for people to host their own virtual screenings + discussions and to share the film with their networks. The film and guide serve as free, on-demand resources for you and your community to use time and again – our only ask is for screening hosts to fill out this brief form (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FXQWCT7) and distribute an audience survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JNTZN8Z).
