About Organization
Founded in 2007 and opened in Charleston, South Carolina, the museum operates with 69 staff members and 107 volunteers. The Center for Family History helps people trace African American genealogy through resources, research tools, and monthly webinars, while exhibits steward stories grounded in diasporic, national, and South Carolina history.
