Junior State of America

Junior State of America, a student-led organization, prepares a diverse community of high school students to participate effectively in our democracy. We offer hands-on civic programs designed to activate the talents of young people, instill values of respect and understanding, and inspire them to be a new generation of American leaders.

Established in 1934, Junior State of America (JSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-partisan youth organization with more than 300 chapters across 20 states and seven U.S. territories and freely associated states. We empower students to engage in politics, citizenship, and civic life outside the boundaries of the classroom. JSA programming, designed to respond to and ignite their ambition and imagination, can be the most impactful extracurricular experience of a student’s academic career.
