We empower young students to understand and participate in democracy through music and the arts, inspiring compassionate, informed, engaged citizens.
The Civic Circle uses music and the arts to teach young students in Grades 3 to 5 seven civic skills we call "steps to democracy." These include civility and peaceful conflict resolution (Listen!), news literacy (Learn!), and voting (Choose!).
Our offerings include live and streaming democracy concerts featuring our original civic songs, after-school workshops that use the arts to advance civic skills, and educational videos and lesson plans that make our program available to teachers and parents everywhere.
