As a licensed addiction treatment professional and past fully licensed insurance agent, Kimberly Allen founded her consulting company to use her insurance knowledge and experience to provide consultative services designed for addiction treatment organizations, with a focus on the implementation of business and administrative processes related to insurance and risk reduction initiatives. Currently, Kimberly serves as Senior Vice President, Global Mental Health Initiatives with Via Positiva, a leading behavioral health consulting firm. Her role includes leading the Company’s mental health and co-occurring initiative and partnerships, providing market and business intelligence and guidance and support to Via Positiva clients, and sharing her industry expertise with behavioral health systems and Fortune 500 corporations.

As a mental health patient advocate with lived experience for many years, Kimberly has served as a private patient and family advocate. Kimberly also serves as a global Lived Experience (LE) Advisor and LE coauthor, collaborating with leading academic institutions and advocacy organizations on patient-centered research, helping to bring peer perspectives to the forefront of scientific decision-making, and author academic manuscripts. She is a long-term advocate with Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) national office and is currently participating in the Healthy Brains Global Initiative, an unprecedented research project on brain health.

Kimberly and host Joanna Grace Farmer, Founder and Director of Building Community Capacity, will discuss what it means to lead with hope and resilience while increasing mental health and well-being, and helping others heal.
