Sacred Spaces, Shared World: The Role of Tolerance
Location: Online
In a society where diverse beliefs coexist, religious tolerance remains an important yet complex issue. What is your response when you see religious intolerance? As people seek to freely express their faith, questions often arise about how to balance personal beliefs with respect for others’ perspectives; including non-believers.
At this meeting, we’ll explore the concept of religious tolerance and its role in fostering understanding and coexistence among different faiths and all worldviews.
We’ll ask questions such as:
- What does religious tolerance mean in today’s diverse society?
- How can we balance personal beliefs with respect for differing faiths or perspectives?
- (In what ways does religious freedom intersect with other social and cultural values?)
- What challenges and benefits come from living in a religiously diverse community?
- What is your response when you see religious Intolerance/tolerance?
- Where is the difference between religious tolerance and weaponized religious beliefs?
This will be an opportunity to reflect on how religious tolerance shapes our communities and discuss pathways for mutual respect and understanding.
