Understanding Strategies that Increase Resilience, Mental Health, and Well-Being

Building Community Capacity, LLC

Location: Online

Peter Varnum is the Associate Director for Orygen Global, looking after Orygen’s collaboration with the global youth mental health community. Prior to Orygen, he built and led the World Economic Forum’s work on global mental health, developing and executing global-scale projects and fostering a multistakeholder community of actors focused on mental health and youth, tech, and the workplace. He managed the Forum’s Global Future Council on Technologies for Mental Health, a community of global experts addressing the ethics of technology and mental health.

Peter is Chair of the Board for The Stability Network (TSN) and a member of the Lived Experience Inaugural Cohort for the Healthy Brains Global Initiative. In both roles, he actively shares his perspective on what it means to be resilient while giving space to individual narratives, understanding that everyone’s experience is different, holding value and merit. He wants young people to be at the forefront of crafting the solutions we need to create necessary change in mental health systems, change that increases collective well-being and equity.

Peter and host Joanna Grace Farmer, Founder and Director of Building Community Capacity, will discuss what it means to support strategies that increase resilience, mental health, and well-being while also increasing equitable outcomes.
