Peace Direct works to rebalance relationships and power in favor of local people and communities rather than international agencies.

Peace Direct believes that local people need to be at the center of defining and driving peacebuilding in their communities and countries to be sustainable. This means supporting organizations, groups, and activists doing effective work to transform conflict locally. We recognize that local actors have the knowledge, relationships and capacity to lead peacebuilding.  

In the past 15 years we have supported local peacebuilders in over 25 countries around the world by providing vital assistance to ensure grassroots action stopping conflict and violence can continue.
